A qualified and trained Treatment Support Staff member (BCBA, BCaBA, RBT) provides direct services which are individual 1:1 therapy services with the client and may include the caregiver’s involvement. Direct 1:1 Treatment Support Staff carry out skill-acquisition and treatment plans, protocols, and the Behavior Support Plan written. Treatment Support Staff carryout procedures based on applied behavior analytic strategies and evidence based research
A qualified and trained Treatment Support Staff member (BCBA) provides direct observation, interviewing, assessing and data tracking, to determine Client and caregiver’s needs to address challenging behaviors and skill deficits. Assessment services focus on identifying functional and socially significant behaviors and skills that results in creating individualized program goals and a Behavior Support Plan; to benefit treatment progress and success and a recommendation for type and intensity of services.
A qualified Treatment Support Staff member provides consultation and training to caregivers'/guardians, significant others, and within the community to address challenging behaviors of interest. This is done by teaching caregivers’ and significant other strategies to prevent challenging behaviors, increase socially significant behaviors, teaching replacement behaviors, and choosing appropriate proactive/reactive strategies. Progress is measured based upon caregiver/significant other’s understanding of treatment and the Client’s skill and behavior improvements.
A qualified and trained Treatment Support Staff member (BCBA or BCaBA) oversees other Treatment Support members to ensure quality of care. This includes providing guidance and training to team members about the case, reviewing procedures and protocols, modeling interventions and discussing case related information. BCBA and/or BCaBAs will also train staff members based off the BACB guidelines for responsible conduct for Behavior Analysts to ensure proper training and experience is met for supervisees.
A qualified and trained Treatment Support Staff member implements Pull-out services, consult with IEPs, creates behavior support plans, promotes maintenance/generalization of skills and implements direct 1:1 service delivery within the natural environment. A qualified and trained Treatment Support Staff member may provide as needed consultation for significant organizations and members within the setting.
A qualified and trained Treatment Support Staff member creates/modifies treatment protocol documents, procedural documents, discharge plans, progress reports, transition plans, updates/modifies treatment plan goals and programming, Behavior Support Plan and/or assessments on an ongoing basis.
